The last five years have been enough to make anybody miserable and pessimistic but, increasingly, we’re hearing about the need to be ‘optimistic’ about the future. The premise seems to be that, if we think positive thoughts, then that may help to turn around the recent recession-hit times. Many feel that the role sentiment plays in financial and economic life can never be over-stated and that any investment, of any kind, from buying stocks and bonds to getting a mortgage depends, for the most part, on how we feel about the future.
